Sometimes the Smartest Business Decision Is Not to Build It Yourself.

Why Strategic Partnerships Beat Building It Yourself in Gaming

One of the most important questions executives can ask isn't:
"Can we build this?"
It's:
"Should we?"
Gaming companies today are being asked to move faster in AI, analytics, mobile, payments, cybersecurity, personalization, entertainment, and customer engagement. Large organizations may have the resources to develop many of these capabilities internally, but should they? This may not be the best strategy.
Sometimes the faster, smarter, and less risky path is finding a partner that has already solved the problem. That's one reason I believe strategic partnerships will become increasingly important as technology transforms the gaming industry.
AI is a perfect example.
Through our relationship with QLX, we can bring sophisticated AI and analytics capabilities into gaming organizations without asking them to reinvent technology that already exists. In fact QLX consulting has seen the progression from SAAS, Analytics into building AI hub integrations for the last 30 years.
But the larger lesson goes far beyond AI.
Partnerships allow companies to combine strengths.
One company brings technology.
Another brings customers.
Another brings distribution.
Another brings regulatory expertise, intellectual property, capital, or market access.
When the fit is right, 1 + 1 can equal considerably more than 2.
At Profound Gaming, this is where we believe we create the greatest value: identifying those complementary strengths and bringing the right organizations together to create new business opportunities.
Because sometimes the greatest opportunity isn't the product you build. It's the partnership you build around it.
